The 2012 being the end of the world is based off of the fact that 2012 is when the Mayan long count calendar ends. And not everybody believes the antichrist will destroy the world because not everybody believes in the antichrist.

No. AntiChrist(s) live in all ages. The “end” is when there are fewer and fewer good people. The Anti-Christ is every person who has no compassion for others and does not try to improve the lives of those around him. Partying does not count. Telling lies is not improving othes lives.
You can be like those people, or change, and be more like Jesus.
Do not support the Anti-Christ. Look in a mirror, who are you ?

2012 is the subject of a bad hoax that has been recycled twice I hear from some of my contacts. There’s no good reason to believe anything bad will occur in 2012. It’s just a bunch of absurd lies. It began with some lies about the Mayan calendar and really has nothing to do with the Bible. The Bible says that no one knows when the End will happen, so Jose Arguelles who created this hoax doesn’t know, and neither do others who recycled the hoax, e.g. Nancy Lieder and others who added more lies to the hoax and changed the date of the End twice.

Yes.You are right.
What everybody thinks is usually correct.
As a matter of fact, look at the history and precedents:
Everybody used to think the world was flat.
Everybody used to think that the wold would end in the year 666, then in the year 999.
Everybody used to think that the planets revolved around the earth.
So yeah, sell everything the year before, and then repent and live a pious life so you can be forgiven and saved by whatever religion you believe!!!!

It’s not just a theory, if you haven’t started building a bomb shelter, now’s a good time to start…

No. Nothing will happen in 2012 like nothing happened:
March 10th, 1982: (Drum roll here please): The Jupiter Effect! What happened March 10th, 1982? Nothing happened on March 10th, 1982.
1987: 88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will be in 88 (and ‘On Borrowed Time’). So what happened in 1988? Nothing happened in 1988.
1999: Nostradamus, in 1999 will come the Great King of Terror… What happened in 1999? Nothing happened in 1999.
Y-2K: What happened 01-01-2000? Another non-event.
One of my very favorites and you should remember this one: Only last year (Sept. of 2008), the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will open up a huge black hole that will swallow up the Universe! The LHC collider was fired up on: 10 September 2008 and shut down: 19 September 2008 after a malfunction. Now I can’t help but wonder why no one wants to talk about this ‘prediction’ anymore! Obviously nothing happened last year because we are all still here.
No end-of-the-world prediction has ever come true, ever.

What we each need to be concerned with is that we have made peace with God before we die, so we can go to heaven. God can help you live a better life if you want Him to help you. You can have a personal relationship with God by saying the prayer below. God is our Creator, all-knowing, all-powerful, eternal, holy, love. God loves us and sent us His Son, Jesus Christ, so we can go to heaven if we know and follow Him. Forever means without end — time on and on without death. Forever is what happens after we die. Either we go to heaven and be with God forever, or we go to hell which is very bad and painful forever. The good people who are saved believers in Jesus Christ go to heaven. The bad people go to hell. We need to know and follow God in this world to get to heaven in the next world. We follow God by loving and obeying Him and loving others for Him. Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is our bridge to God. Jesus died on the cross to cancel our sins. We need to accept Jesus into our life as our Lord and Savior forever to receive God’s blessing and forgiveness plus go to heaven to be with God forever after we die. This is about being a born-again Christian. Faith in God is a gift from God. You can pray for faith in God. Just speak out and ask God for the faith to believe in Him and to follow Him. Some people find faith in God when they realize the beauty in the world is made by God. Evolution can’t explain the world’s natural beauty, for example, the parks in the world, animals, flowers, peacocks, sunsets, butterflies, rainbows, etc. After you have your faith on, you can pray a sinner’s prayer to be a born-again Christian. This prayer is very important and should be said with a sincere heart and faith in God. This is the prayer: “Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that Jesus Christ is the sacrifice for our sins. I have done the following sins (state these out) and I pray to discontinue these sins. I pray to receive Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.” I’m Lutheran and I like the Baptist churches. You could find a good Christian church and try a weekly Bible study group with them to learn more. You can pray to God about your daily life.

Some very unreliable people came up with the rather silly ideas about 2012, which include:
1) the world ending… no reason given (Mayans, from Jose Arguelles, who claims to be a reincarnated priest)
2) most of the world being destroyed, some enslaved (Nibiru, Zech Stitchin, who read this off a Sumerian toilet paper roll… well, not really, but the guy can’t read the language, so don’t tell him)
3) most of the world being destroyed, except a few that hitchhike with aliens (Planet X, Nancy Lieder, who frequently has conversations with the aliens, usually in dreams, although they once sent her a signal in a Starburst candy… no, I am NOT making that up)
4) the Earth goes poof, due to it crossing a equator of the Milky Way (no, I don’t get this one, either)
5) the Earth goes poof, due to the Sun lining up with the center of the Milky Way (I am a complete blank on how this works, too)
6) the Earth goes poof, due to the Sun’s “solar maximum” which although coming in early 2013, will somehow be early and… well… really big. (I think this one can be blamed on Michio Kaku, who really should know better than to predict the Sun TEN years early, now the predictions say “less than average” for 2012-3)
7) the Earth will be eaten by a Giant Space Squid. (this is mine, it is at least as likely as most, as I am as unreliable as most)
