Do you think the republicans will be smart enough to elect Ron Paul as their 2012 presidential candidate?

  • Angela Q posted: 20 Jun at 3:13 am

None. He is insufficiently ideologically pure. ∠°)

  • ♣Rise of the Übermensch♣ posted: 21 Jun at 2:40 pm

LOL! He couldn’t even get 2% of the primary vote, so I don’t think he has much of a chance in 2012 either. I think many Republicans are turned off by his conspiracy theories, which is fear mongering in disguise.

  • Donald F posted: 24 Jun at 6:17 am

    They won’t be.

    He’s not a warmonger.

Republicans are against anyone who would stand up for civil liberties and actually follow the Constitution.

He may be too free market/laissez faire for many Republicans since most still favor lobbying, crony capitalism and some subsidies.

He will most likely run. Yes, he is a very brilliant man, genius if you ask me. People are starting to wipe the sleep from their eyes and sit up and take notice.

    RON PAUL 2012

Interesting that you, a fan of Pelosi, would also be a fan of Ron Paul. She lost me at ‘impeachment is off the table’.

Ok, to answer the Q: no. The Republican Machine is funded by big-establishment-war machine-big media-big pharmacy-central bank loving types. (Much like the Democrat Machine) They’d never let Ron Paul rise to the top. They’d rather lose, just like they did in 2008.

The good news is; by 2012 enough people might see the 2 party system for the total sham it is and vote for someone else!

  • The Dude posted: 01 Jul at 11:07 pm

people who call themselves “republicans” or “democrats” are brainwashed and have no idea who really controls government

    bilderberg group
    trilateral commission
    federal reserve
    imf

assisted by the oligarchy-owned media and via the CFR

…but anyways Ron Paul is probably the best option for president

  • Orion posted: 02 Jul at 1:32 am

Hell no! And why do Democrats love Ron Paul so much? He is against everything that the Democratic Party is all about. I just really don’t get it, but hey. When in Rome?

I actually registered as a Republican so I could vote for him in the primaries to no avail as McCain was the Democrat’s Republican until recently (I am in California).

They will elect whoever has the most money backing them. It will be a tossed election anyways. Obama will win again. The people love him that much. I have heard many state that they want to change it so Presidents can operate the country for three terms. These people are that optimistic about the Messiah! I am guessing that they will toss some punk such as Lieberman (I know that he is a Democrat currently), Palin or whoever feels like going through the shame of being publicly slandered. Jindal will probably be the 2016 President as he may get that Obama backing with some b.s. McDonaldsesque slogans as it will be back to everyone being so sick and tired of the Democrats and all of a sudden the Republicans will be the good guys again as if this is wrestling.

Ron Paul would be ideal in 2012. Unfortunately, he won’t get the funding. And if he does, you know that something is up such as corporate funding. That’s how it goes.

  • DAR posted: 02 Jul at 2:52 pm

We don’t know. We’ve been working inside the party to be better positioned to keep people from turning off the lights and fleeing to destroy quorum when delegate votes are going his way, though.

I don’t think he wants to run, but the man is a slave to duty. If noone else appropriate shows up, and barring failing health, I think we have a pretty good chance of convincing him.

    And then?

It depends on how many are willing to do as you say you would.

    Freedom is popular.

(And he came in second in Nevada, got 16% in Pennsylvania, something like 24% in mountain and plains states…but the super duper tuesday was so early less known candidates had a hard time getting known in time, IMHO.)

If we are still a sovereign nation in 2012, Ron Paul should run as an Independent or 3rd party candidate. He is absolutely right when he says there is no real difference between Democrats and Republicans and the farther he distances himself from them, the more successful he will be.

  • Deb M posted: 07 Jul at 8:12 pm

I thought he was a good candidate also until I checked his voting record. I think voting records tell a lot about a candidate. Here are two websites you might find interesting.

    No. They love Palin. >

Well for sure the economy will collapse by 2012. There could possibly be chaos (riots, martial law, etc) hopefully were civilized enough to not let things get out of control. I will vote for Ron Paul in 2012 if our country is sane enough to still elect a president.
